The Largest Medical and Healthcare Project in West Africa has been formally launched in Accra Ghana during a Media Event in Ghana on Thursday, 1st of March, 2018. The Media event which saw top media houses in Ghana and West Africa attend was to publicly showcase the project, solicit for stakeholder support and provide insights to the development progress of the project.
The Eco Medical Village, founded by Peter Ahiekpor is a 500-bed sub-regional project will be located in Achimota, Accra Ghana and will have various have specialized medical centers across the sub-region. Covering over 40 acres land, the hospital project is set to be constructed over a 26 month period and will employ over 5,000 medical and specialized health service professionals. As a global and technological advanced health village, it will have other facilities including 4 four star hotels, first class pharmacies, and air ambulance services.


Speaking to the media at the event, the Founder and CEO of Eco Medical Village, Mr. Aheikpor said the idea of this revolutionary mega health project was to offer quality healthcare to West African Citizenry who hitherto will have to travel far away to South Africa, India, Europe and Americas in pursuit of healthcare.
In attendance at the media event organized at the Alisa Hotel, Accra was the Chairman of the event, the Overlord of Ga State – the Ga Mantse Dr Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, top government officials including Senior Minister from the Office of the President, Hon. Yaw Osafo-Maafo and Deputy Minister of Health Mr Kingsley Owusu Aboagye. Delegation from Ghanaian legislation was also present with the Chairman of the parliamentary Health Committee and Member of Parliament for Berekum East Dr Kwabena Twum-Nuamah in attendance.


In a speech given by the Senior Minister of Ghana, Osafo Marfo, who could not hide his joy for the project marveled that the Eco Medical Village will be constructed and located in the heart of Ghana and will attract people from all over Africa who seek quality and specialized healthcare in the sub region. He further indicated that government is ready to support and provide an enabling environment for the project to thrive and would advise management acquires trains the best of medical and technical staff to progressively make the center the best in Africa.

Other guests were who graced the occasion was Togbi Sri II, King of Anlo State, Togbi Gbordzor, Right hand King of the Anlo Sate and Reps from Indian High Commission.
